2009 Foals

Our fall 2009 foals are all here....

Little Friends Booberry                            - Sold -

Date of Birth: 31. October 2009

Birth Height: 21" at 4 days

Foal Coat Color: spotted

Sire: Little Friends Lakota's Phantom

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Dam: Cinderella's Baby Doll

        32 1/4" Dark Brown - NLP

Booberry is our last baby for the year! What a cute little girl she is. She is very unusually marked with a big black "Blackberry" shaped area over her gray spots. She was born in a day-time birth on Halloween! She is all girl from her looks but is extremely outgoing! She does not seem to be afraid of anything and her first time mom is not keeping as close of a rein on her as she should sometimes. So hopefully this will not mean trouble for Little Boo! Below to the right is one picture showing her at 5 weeks of age on top of the hay bale annoying one of the other moms.

Pictures to left at 5 days of age - pics below taken on Dec. 04, 2009.

Little Friends Ghostbuster                        - Sold -

Date of Birth: 30. October 2009

Birth Height: 22 3/4" @ 5 days

Foal Coat Color: light red

Sire: Little Friends Nacho Supreme

       31 1/2" Red

Dam: Laughlin's Soballia

         34" Dark Brown

Our little Ghostbuster did not wait till Halloween to arrive. We had been watching Soballia for 3 days and nights almost constantly. She was beginning to drive me crazy. Of course she had to wait until the strongest of the storms came through to deliver her baby. By the time it was safe to go outside she had him delivered and nursing already.

Pictures to left taken 04. Dec. 2009, below at 6 days of age.

Little Friends Reina                                   - Sold -

Date of Birth: 16. October 2009

Birth Height: 22 3/4" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: spotted

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Q-tip

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Q-tip delivered this beautiful girl by herself - how she did it I don't know because I cannot picture this one inside her belly. We can't feel any bones on this baby and her neck is wide. I picked her up one step into the barn after she was born and I couldn't believe how heavy this baby was! What a beautiful girl she is! She always has this "Cover Girl" look but I didn't want to name her that since there are several Cover Girls out there already. Reina means "Queen" in Spanish and she always carries herself like a Queen. She seems to know that she is beautiful. She is the exact opposite of Yelina (below), quiet heavy boned!

Little Friends Yelina                                  - Sold -

Date of Birth: 09. October 2009

Birth Height: 21 1/2" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: spotted

Sire: Little Friends Lakota's Phantom

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Dam: SVA Monday Mary

         32" Gray-Dun

Yelina is a cute little spotted girl that was a little bit shy in the beginning but has since turned into a friendly little girl. Yelina is fine boned and is all girl!

Picture obove taken 22. Dec. 2009

Little Friends Andre                                 - Sold -

Sire: Little Friends Nacho Supreme

       31 1/2" Red

Dam: Little Friends Kirsty

         33" Spotted

And here is one of my favorite boys for the year - Little Andre! I just want to scoop him up and cuddle him every time I see him. First time mom Kirsty is a wonderful and protective mom even at a month of age she knows where he is at at all times and is with him in a heartbeat if she thinks she needs to be.

Little Friends Kumasi

Date of Birth: 01. October 2009

Birth Height: 22" @ 2 days

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

        30 3/4" Light Red

Dam: Little Friends Diamond

Diamond's second girl arrived in a gray fur coat - not spotted like her first baby out of Jolly. Kumasi is adorable and again one of those beautiful gray babies that I seem to be partial to!

Little Friends Kapono                                     - Sold -

Date of Birth: 30. September 2009

Birth Height: 21 1/2" at 2 days

      Foal Coat Color: dark brown

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Neva

         32" Black w. Cross

We had first named Picabo (below) Kapono but somehow the name didn't fit. When Neva's little boy came along the name "Kapono" fit so much better to him and  so we decided to change names. Kapono is a very nice dark boy and is friendly as well.

Little Friends Picabo                                  - Sold -

Date of Birth: 22. September 2009

Birth Height: 22 1/2" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: brown

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

        30 3/4" Light Red

Dam: Little Friends Is-A-Bella

         32" Dark Brown

Picabo is a cute little boy - but is a little bit shy. We hope to change that soon! First time mom Is-A-Bella is taking her job serious and didn't want us to interact much with him in his first few days of life.

Little Friends Mauna Loa

Date of Birth: 20. September 2009

Birth Height: 19 3/4" - 20" at 1 day

Foal Coat Color: dark spotted

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Miss Brazil

        31 3/4" Black w. stripe

We are very sad to report that we lost little Mauna Loa at 10 days of age. We had to supplement her with colostrum since her mom did not have much milk but apparently it didn't give her the immune system she needed in time. She was treated with antibiotics but sadly lost her fight. She was such a beautiful and friendly little girl that we are missing very much!

Little Friends Honey Dew

Date of Birth: 20. September 2009

Birth Height: 21 3/4" at 1 day

Foal Coat Color: Light Red

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

        30 3/4" Light Red

Dam: MJB Hot Pink

         32 1/4" Light Red

Honey Dew is our 4th little girl in a row and she too just looks like her sister Sahara that is turning out nicely. Mom Hot Pink is our jenny from Canada. Her son Nacho Supreme is one of our herd sires that has given us some very nice first foals this year!

Little Friends Naalehu

Date of Birth: 18. September 2009

Birth Height: " at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

        30 3/4" Light Red

Dam: Little Friends Delphie

         32 3/4" Dark Brown/Gray-Dun

Naalehu is our third beautiful girl in a row! She reminds me so much of her older sister (Sweet Valentine) that went to Austria.  She has about the same heavy built that she is obviously getting from both of her parents!

Little Friends Loving You                           - Sold -

Date of Birth: 15. September 2009

Birth Height: 20 1/2" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: red

Sire: Little Friends Nacho Supreme

        31 3/4" Dark Red

Dam: Hidden Assets Bunny

         33" Red/Brown

"Loving You" is as cute as a button. She is small  and very friendly. We were worried about her since she already had diarrhea at birth. With medicine she got rid of it quickly and seems to be doing fine. I used to go into her stall outside of medicine time and told her "Just loving you! No medicine this time"  - so the name just stuck with her. When I see her I can't keep my hands off of her.

Picture above at 10 days of age

Little Friends Nailu

Date of Birth: 06. September 2009

Birth Height: 22 3/4" - 23" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun w. Star

Sire: Little Friends Lakota's Phantom

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Dam: B-7 Tapioca

         32 1/4" Dark Gray-Dun

After three boys we had a cute, gray with star girl! Nailu is all girl with a personality similar to Mumuku (below). She loves attention but is not too pushy. We always have to make sure that we give her some attention since the more pushy foals sometimes demand all the attention and push her away. I always make it a point to give her some extra cuddles and won't let the other foals intrude! Nailu is a sweetheart!

Little Friends Mumuku

Date of Birth: 01. September 2009

Birth Height: 21 3/4" - 22" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: Tyger-Spotted

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Daisy

         33" Dark Brown/White Spotted

Mumuku is out of our stunning looking "Daisy". He is a very nice boy. We don't know what color is spots will be, yet. We love him regardless of the color of his spots! He is a sweet boy that is not too pushy but that loves to get attention.

Little Friends Kailua

Date of Birth: 15. August 2009

Birth Height: 23" at 5 days

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun NLP

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Gardner's Skwentna A.

         31 1/2 Gray-Dun

Skwentna had this little girl at about 2:30 AM. It is a fairly big foal for her but she delivered her on her own. She had only been off pasture for a couple of days and developed colic later that afternoon. We gave her medicine and walked and walked her until the early morning hours - all with a brand new baby. The little one enjoyed most of it until she got tired and wanted to take naps instead. Skwenta is still not 100% but is doing much better than she was. We have decided it to be best for her to go right back out on pasture instead of being in a stall without being able to move around much - and she seems to be doing better out there. This is the first time we ever had a new mom colic after a normal birth.

The baby is a lovebug maybe because of all the extra attention she has been getting in our front yard.

Little Friends Izalco                                - Sold -

Date of Birth: 12. August 2009

Birth Height: 21 1/2" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: Dark Brown

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Esther

         33 1/4" Black w. cross

This dark little boy is Esther's first foal. He is as sweet as they come and is a joy to cuddle and love on. Esther was the only jenny still left over from the spring foaling season that we didn't know for sure when she was bred for. Apparently she didn't get bred right away and we are glad the baby is finally here. One of his favorite things to do is pass under his mom's belly over and over again. Esther is a very patient mom.

This little guy will be for sale as we cannot keep any more boys... He can also be purchased with his mother.

Little Friends Nachica

Date of Birth: 09. August 2009

Sire: Little Friends Nacho Supreme

        31 3/4" Dark Red

Dam: Little Friends Ranch Sweet Miracle

         32 1/4" Dark Gray-Dun

And here is our first foal for the late summer/fall foaling season. Born three weeks early as most of Miracle's foals, "Nachica" is Nacho's first foal ever and Miracle's first little girl after three boys!

Nachica has the nicest round butt and also has a nice brown color, sporting a beautiful white belly. Her personality is very sweet as well. Nacho and Miracle did a great job!

Nachica is for sale.

Little Friends Little Squirt                         - Sold -

Date of Birth: 02. June 2009

Birth Height: 18" - 18 1/4" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: very dark brown

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Samba

         34 1/4" Black w. cross

Samba's first little baby has arrived and he is a tiny little boy! The size that I can't help but worry about him. We only had one other foal his height through the years. That foal has developed into our beautiful herd sire Nacho Supreme. All seems well with this little one. Since we have had rain for the past few days he has not been allowed out to play as of yet. We will keep him separate for a few extra days before he and mom will be allowed to join the herd.

This little guy is for sale as we cannot keep any more boys... He can be purchased with his mother.

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

Dam: Little Friends Alyana

         32 1/2" Dark Gray-Dun

Alyana had this black little girl waiting for us when I went outside to do my chores. While she gave birth outside she took her into the shed when it started drizzling rain that morning. We couldn't have asked for a better first time mom.  This little girl is the smallest born at our farm for a while during full moon (that we couldn't see because of the clouds). I could just scoop her up every time I see her. She is all girl.

Bonsai is for sale. Please check out for sale page.

Dam: McMillan's Cameo

         34 1/2" Brown MSF

Cameo decided to have this little girl right before the storm and it has been raining ever since. She must have had the shortest labor... since one minute she was content eating her hay - 10 minutes later she was just finishing up delivery. Moradi had no problems finding the milk bottle and is an absolute sweetheart. She's been loving her cuddles from Day 1.

Pictures at 7days (the first day she was able to get out of her stall because we have a break in the rain).  Moradi is for sale.

Bumblebee as always is a great mom and will retire here at our farm after she has raised this little boy!

Little Friends Kamran                                    - Sold -

Date of Birth: 21. March 2009 - Approx. 12:30 PM

Birth Height: 23" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: brown

Sire: Lil' Half Pints Lil' Dexter

        28 1/2" Brown

Dam: Little Friends Ranch Reba

         33 1/2" Gray & White Spotted

Reba is the second jenny that was bred to Lil' Dexter before he left for France. She too was not due yet for another 12-14 days and didn't fully bag before foaling. We don't know what was wrong that day that everyone decided to foal without being truly ready for it. (Maybe a change in air pressure). We were supposed to be at our my stepson's wedding at 2 PM and I hadn't even begun to get ready for it because of the new baby worries. I had just made it into the house to take a quick shower when my son called me back out that Reba was having her baby. So back outside to get yet another stall ready. Everyone had to help with this one. Luckily it was a quick birth and the little guy found his milk quickly - what was there. She had a little bit in both sides so we didn't give her a supplement. By the time we got back home from the wedding she was already making more milk.

This is Reba's first solid colored foal! He is for sale and can be purchased along with mom. See our sales page.

Bottom two pictures taken on 05. May 2009

Little Friends Millana

Date of Birth: 21. March 2009

Birth Height: 22 3/4" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: brown w. red highlights and bay pattern

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

        30 3/4" Light Red

Dam: Little Friends Molasses

         33 3/4"  Dark Brown

I was just beginning to deal with the shock of the new baby's little ears and started doing my "normal" chores when I noticed a brand new baby staggering around mom. It had just been born (approx. 9:00 AM). I didn't even have a stall quiet ready yet. I had checked on everyone the night earlier and the only one we thought had any remote chance of foaling was Mocha and we put her into a stall. The others had no signs of impending birth! I hurried to get a stall ready and moved new mom and baby right in. Mom hardly had any milk or bag! The baby started nursing - what it could get and we gave mom a supplement to jumpstart her milk production. By the evening she had more milk.

Millana is a beautiful color and has the same red highlights as her mom! She just looks like her! She is super soft and loves to cuddle.

Little Friends Miss Hawaii                             - Sold -

Date of Birth: 12. March 2009 - 12:20 PM

Birth Height: 22" at 2 days

Foal Coat Color: brown & white spotted

Sire: Little Friends Lakota's Phantom

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Dam: Triple Creek Sabrina

         34"  Spotted

Sabrina had been in our dry lot since last fall thinking she may foal in the fall. Since we didn't have a breeding date on her once she didn't foal in the fall we left her in the dry lot so we could have a better eye on her. She had been on foal watch for a couple of days/nights already. Since the temperatures were so cold I wanted to make sure that I would be there for the delivery. I let her out in the morning but realized soon that she was pacing too much outside looking for a spot to have her baby. It was cold and windy so I brought her back inside. At 12:20 PM she delivered this beautiful spotted girl. She is beautifully marked up with lots of color and reminds me very much of her previous foal - though he was sired by Sundance.  This little girl seems to be perfect and already thinks that she is a show stopper! She needed an exotic name...

Top two pictures at 2 days - others at 6 days

Little Friends Squiggle                                - Sold -

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun

Sire: Lil' Half Pints Lil' Dexter

        28 1/2" Brown

Dam: Little Friends Lucky Charm

         33" Gray-Dun

Lucky Charm deliverd this little boy right on time. She was one of three jennets that we had bred to Lil' Dexter before he left for France. When you look at the little guy it is obvious that he has a tiny parent. He is a tiny bodied little boy and he needed a "little" name.

Sire: Ass-pirin Acres Jolly Roger

Nessie finally delivered this adorable little red girl! I've been watching her closely since the last time around she had so much milk that the baby couldn't get a hold of the milk bottle without assistance. She had a bunch of milk again but this little girl figured it out without assistance but I stayed up until 2:30 AM to make sure all was well.

She is a sweetheart and looks to be well built. She got her name because of her color.

Sire: KMA Montana The Sundance Kid

        33" Black & White Spotted

And another little boy couldn't wait to get here and mom wasn't quiet ready for him, yet. She had just started to make a bag a few days earlier and had not begun to make any real milk, yet. So, we had to supplement the baby with colostrum and gave mom a milk booster. By mid-day she was making enough milk to keep the little guy satisfied and he's been going ever since.

He is a cute little dark boy that loves to play with mom as can be seen in the pictures. One of his favorite things to do is pass under mom which she takes in stride.  At two days of age he is already attempting to eat hay.

He is offered for sale and can be seen on our sale page

Foal Coat Color: gray-dun

        32 1/4" Frosted Spotted White

Dam: Delta Tina Turner

         31 12" Light Brown

This adorable little boy arrived in the middle of the day in a speedy delivery. It didn't take long for him to find the milk bottle and a couple of hours later was playing and running already. It has been cool - so he has been wearing a little blanket for his first day, which doesn't slow him down a bit. Not knowing his gender I reached for the first blanket which is red. He didn't seem to mind. He has the cutest little bounce in his steps and at 4 days he put out the perfect little bray and everyone around answered.

He is offered for sale and can be seen on our sale page
